Empty Nest Moms was created back in 2001 and still around today thanks to all of you! We are a small community of Moms (and Dads!) that are facing the Empty Nest and all of the other life issues that seem to face us around the same time.
So you will now find some “Empty Nest Stories” from other Empty Nest Moms AND Dads on how they are dealing with their Empty Nest etc. Also, there are some Empty Nest Articles along with “Personal Updates” from members on how their Nest is doing now. You’ll find those links on the Home Page. I’ve gotten so many over the years that I thought it would be a good thing to post them (plus new ones that come in) .
And, yes, there is now a section for those Dads that feel this “Empty Nest” when the kids start leaving home. We still have our “Empty Nest Pets” category and have also devoted a new section for our Seniors Empty Nesters! A lot of us are finding that we need to take care of elderly parents and it’s good to hear from those that have some experience with this. Also, a lot of us are getting closer to those senior years or may already be there!
Being able to read so many different ones that have been submitted will be a big help to those who may be still ‘struggling’ to get through this. It’s always nice to know you really aren’t alone in this. So please be sure to submit one (or many!) of your own.
Having had this site now for all these years, we have had many come here that thought they would never get through this ‘Empty Nest Phase’. But with the help and support from others like you and having so many different experiences to read from present and past members, (thanks to you who have submitted them), they have come to realize that they aren’t alone and are not really going crazy!
I have to say that it has been a very rewarding experience through the years ‘seeing’ a lot of you come to the board so unsure of what to do or where they were headed to feeling more confident, sure of themselves and like they were actually going to make it through this and just might start to enjoy it.
You will also find many other topics that you can ‘reply’ to that relate to other issues going on in our lives at this time so be sure to check them all out!
