The “empty nest” experience tests the elasticity of both our home and our heart. Chicken Soup for the Empty Nester’s Soul invites you to contribute a true story or anecdote that explores your losses and discoveries, rifts and rescues, pandemonium and silences – and the hope and humor that helped you survive it all. Your nest doesn't have to be completely empty to contribute your story - most nests empty one fledgling at a time.

Writers of stories accepted for final publication will receive $200 per story published. Contributors of published poems will be paid $50 upon publication.
